"The Pleasure of Their
Company" Press Release
Shaun
Micallef and Glynn Nicholas,
two of Australia’s finest comic performers and writers combine their
formidable talents to create a show that redefines the words “sex
gods.” Never-seen-before comedy skits, disgusting Pate Biscuit stories,
impressions, showbiz gossip and Milo Kerrigan’s soaring vocal
harmonies…these are all under consideration pending legal advice.
Micallef & Nicholas on stage in full living colour in one of the best
venues in town. It’s all good.
Shaun Micallef has done many things in his long and glittering show biz
career, many of them quite legal and none of them involving explosives and
a bank at West Lakes or impersonating Thomas Playford on a ghost train to
get special treatment (both these are seditious lies). As a fixture on TVs
all over Australia for the last ten years he ranks only with aerials and
vases of geraniums in popularity. The Big Gig, Full Frontal, Jimeoin, The
Micallef P(r)ogram(me), SeaChange, Welcher and Welcher, BlackJack,
Micallef Tonight, Star Wars - he's written, acted in, produced, and/or
watched them all. Working with Glynn Nicholas has been Shaun's life-long
dream, as has arriving at school in his pyjamas and talking Swedish
(although this actually turned out not to be a dream and Shaun has been
arraigned to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in June).
Glynn Nicholas began his career in the Winter of 1977 as a street
performer in Munich then Adelaide. Within six months he had developed a
tolerance for sub-zero temperatures and Coopers Beer. From 1987 to 2004 he
has taken on the role of producer/director as well as performer. His
one-person and ensemble shows (including Kissing Frogs, Crossing the Line
& Certified Male) have received outstanding acclaim over the years and
in September 2004 Glynn decided to re-start his performing career and he
is having a ball. is not ashamed to call Hilary Duff his friend and
inspiration.
Mr. Nicholas & Mr. Micallef suggest you book immediately to avoid the
rush and subsequent dizzy spells.
